Acapulco's promotion is a specialized and complex matter that requires a great effort and substantial resources in order to compete efficiently with other beach destinations.
With this purpose, in 1988 by orders of the Government of the State is created the Acapulco Tourism Board, the first one in the Mexican Republic. In 1990 the Federal Government took the initiative to make a tripartite fund with equal contributions (Private, Federal and from the State). In 1998 the Federal Government decides to end up with the tripartite funds (by then there were over 30 Tourism Boards in the country).
WHAT IS THE ACAPULCO CVB/ ACACVB?
Created on June 17TH, 1998 this organization has the same functions of the Tourism Board, which abbreviation means Acapulco Convention & Visitors Bureau, as a Civil Association formed with other organizations related with the Tourism, like the United States Model which allows the private initiative to take the promotional activities on its own, ending with the government paternalism.
Nowadays the AC&VB is the organization that executes the Marketing and Promotional Programs as well as the Advertising of Acapulco with resources such as the Room Tax. Mexico has 52 organizations (CVB's and Tourism Boards).
MISION
We are a Civil Association which purpose is to promote tourism through Marketing Programs, which include Advertising Campaigns, Promotional Programs and Public Relations in order to bring national and international Tourism to Acapulco and reposition the image it has as a top destination.
VISION
The CVB has grown to currently become the organization that gets together all the efforts and resources of the Tourism Sector in the three Government levels and in the Private Initiative to place Acapulco as the top destination in Mexico and among others in the world.
GENERAL OBJETIVES
1.- Reposition Acapulco in the national and international market.
2.- Implement actions that can be worked out between the Government and the Private Sector.
3.-Develop programs in short term and medium term, with marketing strategies that help to increase the number of visitors, the period of stay and the economical overflow.
